Ok, i was thinking of coming back, only to find Red Eye Mountain is no longer on the server list, what happened? Is my char still floating around in a cold void going mad?|
It should be on another server. :) They reduced the amount of servers and at least for the German servers, that means that the remaining ones are full of RvR action. ;)

you might be able to answer my next question then.
Has the game gotten any better?
When i left, it seemed like there was a memory leak and a very bad casting lag. And one thing scares me, normally when an MMO condenses the servers it means bad things (think Age of Conan). Is it looking like that for this game or am i just afraid ?
I'm not sure I can really answer that. I started with a computer that was above their minimum requirements but the performance wasn't good at all. Lots of stuttering issues etc.
Now I have a new and better PC. So I can only say what it's like for me now (and I've only just now entered T4). In scenarios, there are 0 problems (I usually play with my engineer, my slayer or my shaman). In open world RvR, I have 0 problems... well, maybe with all settings on max. when there are a LOT of warbands. But usually, I really can't complain.
In keeps, however, that changes. Performance can drop to 2 fps (It doesn't always happen). Even with settings on "medium". But then again, it could be my computer. ;)
I don't know anything about T4 yet. But I did hear about performance drops and sometimes servers not being able to deal with all the load. :(
All in all, I'm rather disappointed at the moment that they can't seem to get the performance up to where it should be. On the other hand, I do have a lot of fun in the game and apart from keep fights (in the lord's room. Everything around the keep is perfectly fine) the performance is rather good. And, on the third hand, thanks to the fun I have, I'm still willing to stay patient and hope they can get rid of the problems.
With the next patch, they're also finally going to nerf AoE damage and buff single target damage. That was really needed as AoE in general got too powerful (says the engineer that's specced for AoE dots ;)).
I was afraid when I heard they're reducing the servers. But now I have to say that this was the best decision they could make! I mean, servers with a not-full population are just bad if it's an RvR game living from its players. The servers I'm on are really well populated now and no matter where my character is (t1 to T4), I can always find some RvR action! :)
I never made it into T3 content, but I never had any problems with performance.
But then again, I had a, for the time, stupidly souped up machine ^_^
played last night..lots of bugs after the patch so I would wait a few days. Can't access the land of the dead until the end of the week I think.
